Use-Case / Ideal Deployment

Good when you have moderate to heavy traffic, many users, VPN connections, encrypted traffic (TLS/SSL) and you want modern features like SD-WAN, cloud management, etc.

Particularly suited when you need more than entry-level firewall but perhaps don’t need the very top tier appliance.

Things to Consider

As always: the “headline” firewall throughput (4.5 Gbps) is under optimal conditions with few additional services enabled. When full security services (anti-malware, content filtering, SSL inspection) are turned on real-world throughput will be lower.

TLS/SSL inspection (750 Mbps) may become a bottleneck if you have heavy encrypted traffic flows.

Ensure your upstream network (ISP links, switches, cabling) is capable of higher speeds to benefit. If your links are 1 Gbps, for example, you might not fully utilise the device.

Licensing required: the hardware alone is just part of the solution — to get full protection you’ll need subscriptions for security services (e.g., advanced threat protection, anti-malware, content filtering).
